Beware of scams. ChronoMarket does not take part in the sale and does not guarantee payments or authenticity. No advance payments to strangers: it is better to meet in person or use PayPal "goods and services", which protects the buyer. Be wary of anyone asking for prepaid or rechargeable card top-ups, gift vouchers or PayPal "friends and family", and of prices that are too low.

How it works and rules

ChronoMarket is the free space for watch listings: no fees, no middlemen, no passwords. It is open to users in European Union countries.

1. How to post your listing

  1. Fill in the form in 4 steps: watch details, description and condition, photos, price and contact. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
  2. Add at least 4 photos of your own (front, back, side with crown, clasp or bracelet), up to a maximum of 8.
  3. Enter the real price, the payment methods you accept and your email, then tick the declaration and publish. Your listing goes online immediately, for free and with no fees, and you receive the email with the link to manage it.

No registration and no password: you fill in the listing and enter your email; as soon as you publish you receive an email with the link to manage your listings. For your security the link expires after 24 hours and can be used only once: if it expires, or if you want to get in from another computer, you ask for a new one from "My listings" by entering your email. You stay signed in on that device until you log out. Browsing listings and contacting sellers requires no sign-in at all.

2. Duration, renewal and edits

Your listing stays online for 30 days. A few days before it expires we send you an email with a sign-in link: from "My listings" you can renew it for another 30 days or mark it as sold. If you do nothing, the listing expires and is removed automatically.

From "My listings" you see all your listings and can edit, renew, mark as sold or remove them at any time. If you mark one as sold, it disappears immediately. In "My listings" you also see how many times each listing has been viewed and how many people saved it to their favorites. You can also delete your account: all your listings disappear and your email is erased. After an edit the listing shows "Edited on [date]" and the same mandatory rules as at publication always apply.

3. Photos

At least 4 photos are required, up to a maximum of 8:

  • Front: the dial clearly visible.
  • Back: the caseback.
  • Side and crown: the watch in profile.
  • Clasp or bracelet: closure and links.

The other slots are optional: box and papers, any defects, and details such as case, dial and signs of wear. Use your own photos of the watch you are selling. Identical photos in different slots, photos taken from other sites or already used in other listings are rejected. Photos are resized automatically and stripped of hidden data such as GPS location.

4. Price and payments

Enter the real price you are asking: it is the starting point for negotiation. Token prices (for example €1) or untruthful prices are not allowed and the listing will be removed. Buyers can contact you or send you a price offer, and you can agree directly.

You choose the payment methods you accept: PayPal (goods and services, recommended because it protects the buyer), bank transfer, cash with local pickup. Never accept prepaid or rechargeable cards, gift vouchers or PayPal "friends and family": they are the methods most used in scams. For high-value items, use tracked and insured shipping.

ChronoMarket does not handle payments, shipping or delivery: these are agreements between seller and buyer.

If you ship to another European Union country, state the shipping area in the listing, agree costs and times with the buyer and use tracked and insured shipping. Prices are always in euros.

5. What gets removed

ChronoMarket monitors the quality of listings and removes those that do not follow the rules, in particular:

  • watches that are not original, counterfeit, or that you do not own;
  • token, untruthful or suspicious prices;
  • photos that are not yours, copied from other sites or listings, or irrelevant;
  • false or misleading information in the description;
  • contact details, links or requests to get in touch outside the site, in the description or in the photos;
  • duplicate listings of the same watch, lots with several watches, and items that are not watches.

At the moment only complete watches, or watches that need repair (condition "Needs repair", with the defect described), are accepted: spare parts, components and boxes on their own are not allowed. Anyone who repeatedly posts listings that break the rules may be blocked. When a listing is removed, the seller receives an automatic email stating the reason.

6. Reporting a listing

If a listing does not convince you (suspicious watch, fake price, copied photos, odd requests), use "Report this listing" on the listing page: a reason and, if you like, a note are enough. Reports come to us, and a listing with several reports is hidden pending review. If it is compliant it goes back online, otherwise it is removed. The final decision rests with ChronoMarket.

7. What ChronoMarket does not do

ChronoMarket is a space for listings between users. It does not sell watches, does not take part in negotiations, does not handle payments, shipping or delivery, and does not verify the authenticity or condition of the watches. Sellers are responsible for what they declare, and buyers must check the watch before paying. We recommend PayPal "goods and services" or meeting in person.

Terms of use

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. What ChronoMarket is

ChronoMarket is a free space for watch listings, part of the ChronoSearchPro project. Users post listings and can contact each other; negotiation and any sale take place exclusively between buyer and seller.

ChronoMarket is not a shop, does not sell watches, is not a party to negotiations, and is not a broker, payment service, shipping service or guarantee service.

2. Acceptance and requirements

By using ChronoMarket, or by posting a listing, you accept these Terms and the "How it works and rules" page, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

To post a listing you must be of legal age. To post a listing you give a valid email address that you can access: as soon as you publish we send you the link to manage your listings, with no password. For security the link expires after 24 hours and works only once; if it expires, or to get in from another device, you ask for a new one by entering the same email. Browsing listings and contacting sellers requires no sign-in. Your email and your listings form a minimal account, which you can delete at any time. ChronoMarket is open to users resident in European Union countries; prices are always expressed in euros.

3. Posting a listing: what you declare

When you post a listing you declare, under your own responsibility, that:

  • the watch is original and belongs to you (or you are authorised to sell it);

  • the price shown is the real price, as a starting point for negotiation;

  • the information and photos are truthful, and the photos are your own, taken of the watch you are selling;

  • you have read and accept the ChronoMarket rules.

To be able to prove this declaration, ChronoMarket records the date, time and email address used to make it. You are solely responsible for the content of your listing and for what you declare.

4. Content and licence

You remain the owner of the texts and photos you post. By posting a listing you grant ChronoMarket a free, non-exclusive licence to display and reproduce them, for as long as the listing is online, on the ChronoMarket site and, once this feature is live, in ChronoSearchPro search results, and to make the technical copies needed for the service to work (for example resizing photos). The licence ends when the listing is removed or deleted, except for technical copies, which are deleted within the times stated in the privacy notice.

You warrant that you have the right to post what you upload and that you do not infringe third-party rights. Photos and descriptions must not contain other people's personal data (faces, addresses, phone numbers).

5. What is not allowed

The full rules are on the "How it works and rules" page. In short, the following are not allowed: watches that are not original or are counterfeit, or that you do not own; token, untruthful or suspicious prices; photos that are not your own or are misleading; false information; contact details or links to outside contacts in the text or photos; duplicate listings, lots with several watches, spare parts, components and items that are not watches; use of the service for scams, spam or harassment; use of automated systems to post listings or bulk-extract them; attempts to damage or overload the service.

6. Monitoring, reports and removal

ChronoMarket does not check every listing before publication: it checks them afterwards, also through user reports and automated checks, with the final decision made by a person. Anyone can report a listing using the "Report this listing" button.

ChronoMarket may hide, edit in essential details or remove a listing, and block users who repeatedly break the rules, at any time. When we remove a listing we notify the seller by email, stating the reason. The seller can reply to that email: the decision is reviewed by a person and, if the removal was unfounded, the listing is restored.

Sellers can edit, renew or remove their listings at any time from the "My listings" section, after signing in with the link received by email. They can also delete their account together with all their listings. Listings last 30 days and expire if not renewed.

7. Contact, offers and negotiation between users

From the listing page the buyer can send a message or a price offer: ChronoMarket forwards it to the seller by email, together with the name and email address given by the buyer, so that the seller can reply directly. From that moment communication takes place between the two users, outside ChronoMarket.

Anyone who receives the other party's details may use them only for the negotiation in progress and may not send advertising messages, nor transfer or publish them.

8. Payments, shipping and risks

ChronoMarket does not handle payments, shipping or delivery and offers no guarantees on transactions. The seller states the payment methods they accept; ChronoMarket recommends PayPal "goods and services" or meeting in person, and advises against prepaid or rechargeable cards, gift vouchers and PayPal "friends and family". For high-value items we recommend tracked and insured shipping. In sales between different European Union countries, seller and buyer agree between themselves the shipping area, costs and times.

ChronoMarket does not verify the authenticity, condition, origin or ownership of the watches, nor the identity of users. Buyers must check the watch and the seller before paying; sellers must check the payment method before shipping.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ChronoMarket is not liable for the content of listings posted by users, for negotiations and sales between users, for the quality, authenticity or origin of the watches, for payments and shipping, or for direct or indirect damages arising from use of the service or its unavailability. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights that the law always grants to consumers, nor excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

10. Free service and availability

ChronoMarket is currently free and has no fees. In the future optional or paid services may be introduced (for example for those who post professionally): they will be announced with adequate notice, will not affect listings already published, and joining them will not be mandatory.

The service may be modified, suspended or discontinued, even without notice, for example for maintenance or technical reasons, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.

11. Changes to the Terms

These Terms may be updated over time. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of last update. For important changes, users with an active listing receive a notice by email.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rules of the place where you live and the court jurisdiction set by law for your protection remain unaffected.

13. Contact

For questions about the Terms, to challenge a removal or to report unlawful content you can write to chronosearchpro@gmail.com.

Privacy notice

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. Who handles the data (data controller)

The data controller for ChronoMarket, part of the ChronoSearchPro project, is a natural person running the service as an independent project. For any request about your data write to chronosearchpro@gmail.com. The controller's identifying details are available to the competent authorities.

2. What data we process and why

People who post a listing (sellers). Email address (which identifies your account), country, city or region, watch details, description, photos, price, payment and delivery methods indicated, and the record of acceptance of the declaration (date, time, email). They are needed to publish and manage the listing, to send you service emails (messages received, expiry, renewal, removal) and to be able to prove the declaration made. In their area the seller sees, as totals, the views and favorites of their own listings.

People who contact a seller (buyers). Name, email address, message and any price offered. They are needed to forward the message to the seller, who will be able to reply to you directly.

People who report a listing. The reason and the optional note of the report. They are needed to check the listing and to prevent abuse.

People who browse listings (visitors). If you save a listing to your favorites we use an anonymous code stored in your browser to remember your list: it is not linked to your name or email and stays in the browser for 12 months after last use. To count views we only record the number of visits per listing, without storing data that identifies you. We show the seller only the totals (views and favorites), never who you are.

Technical data. Like any website, the server records connection data such as the IP address and the time of requests, for security, anti-spam and operation of the service. To limit abuse (for example too many requests for the sign-in link) we keep, for a few days, temporary counters linked to the IP address or email. If an email address is blocked for repeated violations of the rules, we keep it on a list to prevent blocked users from coming back.

We do not use passwords. For people who post listings we create a minimal account, tied to the email address and accessible only through the link we send; we do not profile users and we do not run advertising.

3. Legal bases

We process data to carry out the service you request (posting a listing, contacting a seller); for our legitimate interest in the security of the service, in preventing scams and abuse, and in being able to prove sellers' declarations; and to comply with legal obligations or requests from authorities.

4. Who we share data with

The seller's email address is never published or shown to other users. When a buyer sends a message or an offer, their email and name are sent to the seller; when the seller replies, their email also becomes known to the buyer. From that moment each of them processes the other's data independently, only for the negotiation.

Data is processed by technical providers that help us run the service (we host the server at Hetzner and send service emails through Brevo, a French company), under agreements that commit them to use it only for this purpose. We do not sell data and we do not pass it to third parties for advertising. We may disclose data to authorities if the law requires it.

The listing (not the seller's email) may in future also appear in ChronoSearchPro results with the source "ChronoMarket".

5. How long we keep data

  • Listing, photos and texts: while the listing is online; after expiry, sale or removal they are deleted within 30 days. Seller's email and account: while the account exists; they are deleted immediately with the "Delete my account" button and, if the account has no listings and has not been used for 12 months, automatically.

  • Messages and offers: not stored on the site, they only pass through as emails between users.

  • Record of acceptance of the declaration and reports: 12 months (even if the account has been deleted in the meantime).

  • List of blocked addresses: for as long as needed to prevent blocked users from coming back.

  • Technical server data (IP addresses): for a limited period, only for as long as security and operation of the service require.

We may keep data for longer only if the law requires it or to defend ourselves in case of disputes.

6. Photos

The photos you upload are automatically resized and stripped of hidden data (for example GPS location). We ask you not to include in photos or descriptions faces, addresses, phone numbers or other personal data of yours or of others.

7. Cookies

ChronoMarket uses only cookies and technologies strictly necessary for it to work, including the session cookie that keeps you signed in after you use the link received by email and the anonymous code that remembers your favorites in this browser. It does not use profiling, tracking or third-party analytics cookies, and for this reason it does not show a consent banner. If in the future statistics tools or other non-essential cookies are introduced, this notice will be updated and, where required, your consent will be requested.

8. Links to third-party sites

The pages may contain links to external sites. Once you follow a link, the privacy rules of the destination site apply.

9. Your rights

You can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing, by writing to chronosearchpro@gmail.com. Sellers can at any time edit or delete their listings from the "My listings" section, or delete their whole account. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of your country of residence.

10. Minors

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Updates

This notice may be updated, for example with new features or tools. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of last update.
