1942

The brand's signature collection, inspired by its historic pocket watches

Model History

Launched in 2005, "1942" is Aerowatch's first true wristwatch collection under the Bolzli family, and it remains today the one most associated with the brand. The name doesn't describe the model's design year, but is a direct tribute to 1942, the year Maxime Crevoisier took over the factory and set it on the path to its golden age as a pocket-watch maker.

The design translates onto the wrist the typical codes of period pocket-watch design: a railway-track minute scale around the dial's edge, classic numerals and, above all, a small off-center seconds sub-dial — the "petite seconde" — in place of a central hand, exactly as on a real pocket watch rather than a modern, symmetrical three-hand design.

Over time the collection has expanded well beyond the original small-seconds model, growing to include chronograph variants, a full calendar with double moon phase, and limited editions with a regulator complication — while always keeping the same visual identity inspired by the brand's past.

Fun Fact

The name "1942" misleads more than a few collectors: it doesn't indicate the model's design year (launched in 2005), but the year Maxime Crevoisier took over the factory — the collection is a tribute to the company's history, not a remake of a watch actually produced that year.
