Model History
Launched in 2014, the Alpiner 4 collection began as a statement of intent: to revive, with modern specifications, the four requirements that had defined the 1938 Alpina 4 — antimagnetic, shock-resistant, waterproof and with a stainless-steel case — widely considered the birth certificate of the modern Swiss sports watch.
To make this heritage verifiable rather than just claimed, the Alpiner 4 watches are certified to the ISO 764 (magnetic resistance) and ISO 1413 (shock resistance) standards, a detail few competitors in the same price bracket can match. The most fully equipped variants in the line add travel-friendly functions: the GMT version, among the most representative, is fitted with the automatic calibre AL-550, featuring an independently adjustable second time zone and a 360° rotating bezel with a compass scale — an explicit nod to the "mountain and sport" vocation behind the Alpiner name.
Alongside Alpiner, the other two main collections in the Alpina catalogue are Startimer (the aviation heritage) and Seastrong (the diving soul): together, the three lines cover the great territories of the classic sport watch — air, water and mountain — on which the brand has built its identity since 1938.

Certifications and Tributes
The name "Alpiner 4" directly recalls the four requirements of the 1938 Alpina 4: the collection is conceived as a genuine ideal continuation of that watch, updated with verifiable ISO certifications instead of a simple promise from the manufacturer.
