Millemetri

The brand's first watch, and the manifesto of its diving heritage

Model History

Presented in 1997, the same year the brand was founded, the Millemetri is Anonimo's first model, its very name declaring its vocation: to withstand extreme depths, well beyond the needs of a sport diver. The cushion-shaped case, typical of the brand's entire historic output, comes directly from the technical heritage of the military diver's watches previously made in Florence by Panerai.

The crown, protected by a screwed guard, is positioned at 4 o'clock instead of the usual 3 o'clock — a functional rather than aesthetic choice: moving it away from the back of the hand reduces the risk of accidental impacts during diving use. A helium escape valve, positioned at 2 o'clock on the most fully equipped executions, lets the watch safely release gas that has built up inside the case during decompression after saturation dives — a feature historically reserved for professional instruments.

Produced in numerous variants over the years (dials and bezels in different colors, cases in steel, bronze or titanium, automatic and manual versions), the Millemetri remains the model most closely identified with "historic" Florentine Anonimo, before the headquarters moved to Switzerland in 2013-2014.

Fun Fact

The name "Millemetri" literally states the project's technical goal: a watch capable of accompanying dives down to a thousand metres, a round figure designed to stick in the mind as firmly as the watch's own resistance.
