Hampton
Model History
The name Hampton evokes the Hamptons, the well-known residential enclave on the US East Coast, historically associated with a refined yet informal lifestyle, made of artistic communities and elegant holiday homes without being ostentatious: an image the brand chose to describe the collection's character, defined as "relaxed elegance."
Aesthetically, the rectangular shape that characterizes the contemporary Hampton draws inspiration from an Art Deco watch from 1940 held in the maison's archives, with bold lines and a generously domed crystal typical of that era's optimistic design language; the modern collection, with the shape that still defines it today, was presented starting in 1994, then updated several times over the following decades.
Throughout its history the Hampton has been offered in both men's and women's versions, with very different sizes from one another — from more compact XS models to larger XL versions — and with a range of materials spanning from steel to 18-carat rose gold, often paired with guilloché or lacquered dials that accentuate its Art Deco character.

According to the maison, the designers drew directly on the Baume family's historical diaries and archives, as well as on a 1940 Art Deco example held in the brand's museum, to design the contemporary Hampton — a case where the name of an American holiday destination was chosen to tell an entirely European stylistic heritage.
