The City
Model History
The City is the most representative and long-running line in the watch catalogue made by Fossil Group under Burberry license: present since the early years of the agreement, signed in 2002, it accompanied the partnership's entire life until 2017, remaining the most accessible entry point of the range compared to the later, more ambitious "The Britain" line.
Aesthetically it is a round watch with a classic, sober language: polished steel case, clean dial with Roman numerals or baton indices, and — depending on the reference — the check motif engraved on the case back or case details, a discreet nod to the brand's identity without the showiness of more decorative collections such as Heritage. The line covers a wide range of sizes, from the 34 mm of the women's versions up to the 42 mm of the more structured men's models.
Among the most widespread executions are the quartz The City chronograph, with three counters and a 42 mm case, and several women's versions in steel with a more minimal dial. Precisely because of the wide commercial reach it achieved during its production years, The City is today the most easily found Burberry line on the secondhand market.

Main Executions
Precisely because it was the most produced and distributed line during the fifteen years of the Fossil license, The City is today the most common Burberry watch on the secondhand market: most of the pieces still in circulation, on resale platforms or through watchmakers specializing in secondhand pieces, belong to this very collection.
