Model History
Launched in 2019, the Heritage collection was created with a declared goal: to pay tribute to the brand's Lucerne roots and the decades in which Bucherer had established itself as one of the leading Swiss makers of certified chronometers. The line's reference model, the Heritage BiCompax Annual, reinterprets a house chronograph dating back to the 1950s, recognizable by the case's curved lines, elongated pushers and the golden finishes that characterized the original.
Alongside the vintage graphic base, the BiCompax Annual pairs a decidedly more modern complication, the annual calendar, combined with a bicompax chronograph with just two counters on the dial and a tachymeter scale at the edge: a balance between period aesthetics and contemporary usefulness that has become the distinctive trait of the entire Heritage collection, which over the years has also expanded to include a historically-inspired World Timer.
Several executions of the BiCompax Annual have been offered in limited editions of 888 pieces, a number chosen not by chance: it is the brand's founding year, 1888. A detail that explicitly links every watch in the Heritage line to the founding history of Carl Friedrich Bucherer's company.

The piece count chosen for many Heritage limited editions — 888 pieces — is not a coincidence: it directly evokes 1888, the year Carl Friedrich Bucherer opened his first watch and jewelry shop in Lucerne, making every watch in the collection a small numeric tribute to the brand's founding date.
