Deep Blue
Brand History
Deep Blue was founded in 2007 in New York with a stated goal from day one: making rugged, reliable and accessible dive watches, without the markup of storied Swiss watchmaking names. The brand belongs to that generation of American companies that, starting in the mid-2000s, began offering professional divers with technical specifications comparable to far more established brands, but at a much lower entry price, relying on cases produced in the Far East and Japanese or Swiss base movements.
From its earliest collections, Deep Blue adopted the motto "form follows function" as a guiding principle: every element of the watch β from the bezel to the helium valve, from the sapphire crystal to the luminous materials β is justified by real underwater use, before being an aesthetic choice. This pragmatic approach has led the brand to push toward extreme water resistance, with several lines certified well beyond 300 meters and some models claiming ratings up to 3,000 meters, a figure very few manufacturers in the world declare.
Over the years Deep Blue has built a very broad catalogue, ranging from classic automatic divers to dive chronographs, up to a line dedicated to tritium illumination, a technology normally associated with military or niche watches. The brand has carved out a recognized place within the microbrand community, remaining a reference point for those seeking a dive watch with serious specifications at an affordable price.
