Mega Chief
Model History
The Mega Chief was created as a deliberately bulkier evolution of the Chief line, the chronograph that in the 2010s helped define Diesel's watch identity with the general public. The name itself — "Mega" paired with "Chief" — states the intent: not a simple sport chronograph, but an amplified version, designed for those seeking immediate visual impact on the wrist, in line with the deliberately excessive aesthetic of the clothing brand.
Produced by Fossil Group under license, the Mega Chief uses cases that reach and exceed 50 mm in diameter, often in steel with two-tone or black PVD finishes, paired with three-counter dials with baton indices and, on many references, Milanese-mesh bracelets or thick leather or silicone straps. It is one of the most reproduced lines in the Diesel catalogue, with dozens of color and material combinations released over the years.
In 2019 the line also hosted a special edition, the Mega Chief Concrete, made in collaboration with Hypebeast and produced in fewer than 1,000 pieces worldwide: the case integrates actual concrete inserts and the dial offers '90s-inspired ombré shades, with a hidden engraving on the caseback dedicated to the "concrete jungle" concept — an example of the collaborations and limited editions through which Diesel has periodically renewed attention on the line.

Main Executions
The Mega Chief Concrete edition was born out of an inspiration trip to London by Diesel's creative team: the idea of bringing the urban "concrete jungle" directly onto the wrist, going as far as using real concrete in the case, is a fairly rare example in fashion watchmaking of a construction-site material turned into a style detail.
