Class-1 Chronoffshore
Model History
The Chronoffshore grew out of the bond Edox built, starting in the late 2000s, with the world of offshore powerboat racing: the brand became official timekeeper of the Offshore Class-1 World Championship, the top category of high-performance powerboat racing, a very different context from sailing but consistent with the "Water Champion" vocation Edox has claimed since the 1961 Delfin. The model's very name, combining "chronograph" and "offshore", declares this dual belonging from the start: a timing instrument and an explicit tribute to speed at sea.
Over the years the Chronoffshore has been offered in various executions, often in limited runs paired with specific editions of the Class-1 series; among these, the 2011 edition is generally considered one of the line's most successful. The 43-millimeter case in black PVD-treated steel, the highly legible carbon-fiber dial and the large chronograph pushers make up an aesthetic entirely designed for the powerboat-racing context, while the Arabic numeral "1", highlighted in blue near the 1 o'clock position, directly recalls the Class-1 category to which the model is dedicated.
From a technical standpoint, the Chronoffshore pairs its automatic chronograph movement — based on the Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 caliber, internally designated Edox 011 — with a 500-meter water resistance, a figure well beyond what is normally required of a sports chronograph and consistent with the image of ruggedness the brand associates with its commitment to offshore powerboat racing.

Main Executions
Unlike most motorsport-inspired chronographs, which almost always look to speed on road or track, the Chronoffshore draws its identity from offshore powerboat racing: a world of open-sea racing, less known to the wider public but entirely consistent with the history of a brand that built its fame precisely on water.
