Grand Ocean
Model History
The Grand Ocean was born as a contemporary collection through which Edox gives present-day shape to its identity as "Water Champion": more than the story of a single historic watch, the line is conceived from the start as an interpretation of the brand's relationship with the sea, playing on the contrast between elegant forms and the technical ruggedness required of a true water watch. The name itself, "Grand Ocean", explicitly evokes this duality: the calm, refined surface on one side, the untamable power of the depths on the other.
A distinctive feature of the collection is the case known as "Triple Horn", a three-pointed lug shape that Edox claims as its own stylistic signature and that appears, with small variations, across the entire Grand Ocean line; the caseback, in turn, bears an engraved compass-rose motif, visually reinforcing the link to navigation and orientation at sea. The collection has been renewed several times over the 2010s and 2020s, with new generations of cases and movements progressively refining its proportions.
In its most recent form, presented in 2025, the Grand Ocean is organized mainly into two families: the Grand Ocean Chronograph Automatic, with a 43-millimeter case, an automatic Sellita SW 500 BV b movement, a vertical bicompax chronograph function with date and 300-meter water resistance; and the Grand Ocean Power Reserve Automatic, more compact at 40 millimeters, with a Sellita SW 279-1 movement, a power-reserve indicator and small seconds, also water-resistant to 300 meters. Both families are offered in various dial combinations, from the more classic blue and black tones to executions with black PVD treatment and rose-gold details.

Main Executions
The Grand Ocean's caseback, with its engraved compass rose, is a detail meant to be appreciated only by the person wearing the watch: a small tribute to navigation, hidden from anyone simply looking at the dial, which neatly sums up the discreet yet technically rigorous spirit with which Edox has always built its water watches.
