Model History
The Field debuted in 2022 with a stated goal: to offer an accessible entry point into the Formex catalogue while maintaining the same Swiss build standards and technical language as the brand's more expensive lines. To keep the price under the psychological $1,000 threshold, Formex forwent the COSC chronometer certification that characterizes the Essence and Reef, but kept a grade 2 titanium case with a hardening coating, a material unusual at this price point in the industry.
Aesthetically the Field moves away from the more extreme, sporty shapes of Formex's early years (large racing chronographs over 43mm) toward the more versatile language of the "field watch": a 40mm case, a diving-style screw-down crown, a rated water resistance of 150 metres, and a range of boldly coloured dials — including variants such as Golden Honey, Deep Blue, Basalt Grey, Coho Salmon and Ice Blue — designed for everyday use rather than truly extreme conditions.
Despite its accessible positioning, the Field retains the Case Suspension System patented by founders the Grädel brothers, confirming the strategy set by Raphael Granito from the 2016 relaunch onward: investing the budget saved on traditional distribution into real engineering and materials, even on entry-level models, rather than cutting technical substance to hit a lower price.

Main Executions
The Field is the only Formex line to deliberately forgo the COSC certification that the brand has made almost a trademark with the Essence and Reef: a deliberate positioning choice, made to stay under a clear price threshold, that shows how Formex treats chronometer certification as a commercial lever to use line by line, not as an automatic requirement for every product in the catalogue.
