Skytraveller

The air-travel face of the BOSS catalog, between sunray dials and mesh bracelets

Line History

Skytraveller is the BOSS catalog line that builds its identity around the imagery of aviation and long-haul travel: the name itself, "sky traveler," evokes the aesthetics of cockpit instruments and pilot's watches, a genre historically much exploited by fashion watchmaking for its strong visual impact.

Its most recognizable feature is the blue sunray-finished dial, often paired with two chronograph counters and shaped indices that recall cockpit instrumentation; the brand also offers it in other colors. The steel case, available in different diameters depending on the execution, can be paired with a steel bracelet with push-button clasp, a thinner Milanese mesh variant, or a leather strap for the smaller versions designed for everyday use.

Despite the name and aesthetics evoking the dual time-zone reading typical of genuine GMT pilot's watches, Skytraveller remains a quartz chronograph without multi-timezone complications: a choice consistent with the brand's positioning, which favors the aesthetic nod to the world of flight over the actual technical complication.

Fun Fact

Despite being called Skytraveller and featuring pilot-watch aesthetics, the line does not incorporate an actual dual-time-zone GMT complication: a fairly common case in fashion watchmaking, where the name and design evoke a world — here that of intercontinental flight — more for stylistic suggestion than for actual technical function.
