Model History
The Pilot Watches Basic collection was created as a more accessible, contemporary reinterpretation of the historic Pilot Watch Original line. While the latter pursues fidelity to the proportions of the 1940s Beobachtungsuhren, the Basic takes a more contemporary approach: flatter case profiles, more harmonious proportions and more compact diameters, designed for everyday use far from the imposing size of the original military instruments.
Aesthetically, the line still maintains a direct link to the brand's heritage, offering the three historic dials of the Flieger tradition: type A with the large numbers from 1 to 11 and the triangle at 12, type B with the minutes numbered on the outer edge, and type C variants that hybridize the classic layout with additional functions. The case finish, brushed rather than matte as on the more historical replicas, contributes to a more modern, less "military" look.
Within the range, mechanical automatic executions coexist — the majority of the collection — alongside a few quartz models designed as an even more accessible entry point. The line's positioning is explicitly a compromise between the brand's heritage and good value for money, in a segment of German mechanical watchmaking more affordable than the premium executions of the Original.

Main Executions
The type C dial, found in some Basic variants, historically originated as a hybrid between the type A and the requirements of pilot chronographs: a detail that in the modern collection coexists with the more classic look of the A and B types, widening the scope for customization without straying from the original Flieger language.
