Eliros

The entry point to the Maurice Lacroix catalog: essential design, slim cases and the range's most affordable price

Line History

The Eliros debuted in 1996 as a collection of dress watches with a deliberately simple language: slim, shaped cases, soft lines and an overall design that the brand itself describes as timeless essentiality. Unlike Masterpiece and Pontos, which over the years have moved toward complications and higher prices, the Eliros has kept its original function within the catalog over time: being the most affordable entry point into the Maurice Lacroix world, designed for those approaching the brand for the first time without wanting to give up production made entirely in Switzerland.

The line is organized today into three main families. The Date family offers steel cases, also with gold or rose gold PVD treatment, dials in tones ranging from emerald green to blue, often paired with leather straps or steel Milanese mesh bracelets. The Moonphase family introduces a moon-phase indication alongside the date, with a 35 mm women's execution — white mother-of-pearl dial and eight diamond indices — and a larger-diameter men's execution, with a more pronounced moon phase on a silvered dial. The Chronograph family, finally, brings the case to 40 mm in steel with black PVD treatment, a sunray-brushed black dial, three counters and contrasting red details on the hands and strap stitching.

On the mechanical side the Eliros uses both quartz movements, for the more accessible executions, and automatic movements for the slightly higher-tier versions — without the brand making public, for this line, the specific caliber used in each reference. It is a choice consistent with the line's positioning: more than the movement itself, what makes the difference is the chance to access a Swiss Made steel case, a carefully finished dial and a lively color range at a price that remains, within the Maurice Lacroix catalog, the most affordable overall.

Fun Fact

While most of Maurice Lacroix's communication in recent years has focused on the Aikon and on Masterpiece's complications, the Eliros remains one of the catalog's longest-running lines, active uninterrupted since 1996: almost thirty years in which it has kept the same role, offering a genuine entry point into the brand's Swiss watchmaking at the range's most accessible price.
