Nocturne
Model History
The Nocturne was presented in 2022 as the most recent evolution of the lunar theme that has accompanied Sarpaneva since the Korona. According to Stepan Sarpaneva himself, the basic idea dates back to an initial concept sketch from 2012, which for years remained a more technical project with a less defined look: the breakthrough came, again according to the watchmaker's account, thanks to a new dial-making technique discovered during the collaboration with the Moomins, which finally made it possible to create the nocturnal scenery imagined years earlier. For the final dial design, Sarpaneva turned to Finnish illustrator Ville Tietäväinen, drawing explicit inspiration from the sets of small traveling theaters of old.
The result is a dial made of six steel components, with a perforated base plate pierced at 233 points and hand-painted with eight different shades of Super-LumiNova: in the dark, the entire nocturnal landscape lights up, including the moon face that is Sarpaneva's trademark. The case, in Finnish Outokumpu steel, measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.4 mm in thickness, with anti-reflective sapphire crystals on both dial and case back, a screw-down crown and 100 meters of water resistance.
The movement is, as with the Korona, a modified Soprod A10 caliber, automatic, with 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour and 42 hours of power reserve, finished with rhodium plating and perlage decoration and completed by a steel rotor depicting Sarpaneva's moon face with white gold counterweights. The Nocturne was offered in two executions, White Moon and Harvest Moon, each limited to 30 pieces.

Main Executions
For the Nocturne's dial, Sarpaneva drew inspiration from the sets of small traveling theaters of old: an unusual reference for a watch, which shows how much the design of his collections remains tied to narrative and visual suggestions rather than watchmaking technique alone.
