1545
Collection History
According to the account provided by the brand's official website, the 1545 is born in the 1970s as a mass-produced case — identified by the code "Y1545" — made on request for numerous other brands, at a time when Squale was among the world's first manufacturers of cases labeled "water resistant". In this case too, then, the collection's name comes from a contract-production code, not from a marketing idea conceived after the fact.
The reference's vintage executions, sought after by collectors today, often feature a double Squale logo on the dial — one stylized at 12 o'clock and one more curved at 6 o'clock — a detail that, according to several specialized sources, testifies to the original product's dual nature: sold both under its own brand and as a component for other clients.
Brought back into production with the brand's relaunch, today's 1545 features dials that Squale itself describes as inspired by the original 1970s executions, reinterpreted with more intense colors and modern finishing. The stated water-resistance level varies depending on the execution — sources report figures between 200 and 300 meters for the models currently on sale — while the distinctive element of the red gasket visible at the base of the screw-down crown, which signals whether it is correctly screwed in, remains constant.

The double Squale logo that appears on many 1545 executions — one at 12 o'clock and one at 6 o'clock — is often read by enthusiasts as a small, unintentional reflection of the Y1545 case's double life: born to be sold nameless to other brands, and later becoming one of the references most closely identified with the Squale name itself.
