OS Pilot
History of the line
At the end of the 1990s Zeno-Watch Basel decided to take one of the hallmarks of its pilot's watch tradition to the extreme: legibility. In 1999 the brand launched the OS Pilot (Oversized Pilot) family, pushing the case diameter up to around 47.5 mm — an unusual size for the time, intended to evoke an aircraft's on-board instrument more than a conventional wristwatch, at a time when large sizes had not yet become a widespread trend in watchmaking.
The line, now available in numerous variants — including the Chrono Observer, Dual Time, Big Date and several chronometer versions — shares a common approach: sturdy steel cases (with PVD treatment on some versions), high-contrast dials with large indices and hands, and Swiss Made automatic movements, including the Valjoux 7750 chronograph, chosen to ensure reliability in a format designed above all for practical use.
The OS Pilot has helped make Zeno-Watch Basel a reference among enthusiasts of large pilot's watches, alongside the more compact Pilot Classic line: the two families coexist today in the brand's catalogue as two different readings of the same aviation and instrument heritage.

In 1999, when Zeno-Watch Basel presented the first models of the 47.5 mm Oversized family, the fashion for large-diameter watches had not yet conquered the mainstream watch market: the brand's choice anticipated by a few years a trend that would become much more common in the following decade.
