CK Minimal
Model History
When Calvin Klein and Swatch Group began, in 1997, producing the first watches under the "cK watch" name, the stylistic choice matched the house's identity: clean dials, baton hands, slim steel cases, designed as a discreet accessory rather than a showy piece. It is from this original approach that, over time, what the brand today offers as the Minimal line was born: the direct heir of the essential language Calvin Klein watches have carried since their debut.
In 2014 the brand dropped the lowercase "ck" initials on the dials in favor of the spelled-out "Calvin Klein", a visual identity change that accompanied the entire catalogue without altering the minimalist approach of its most essential lines. In more recent executions, such as the Milanese mesh bracelet model marketed under the name "Minimal", the dial is described by the brand itself as "quadrant-inspired", a nod to the essential shape of the dial itself rather than to additional decoration.
The transfer of the watch license from Swatch Group to Movado Group, formalized in August 2020 and operational from 2021-2022, did not affect the centrality of this approach: the Minimal line remains, still today, one of the main references of the Calvin Klein catalogue, confirming how the brand perceives its sober aesthetic as an integral part of its watchmaking identity rather than just one collection among many.

The name "Minimal" does not actually refer to a single isolated collection so much as the brand's overall stylistic thread: most of the Calvin Klein catalogue, including lines with different names, is described by the brand itself as an expression of a "minimalistic" approach — a sign of how much this word has become synonymous with the brand's watchmaking identity rather than the label of a single product.
