Patravi
Model History
The Patravi debuted in 2001, the same year the Bucherer family's watch division became the independent brand "Carl F. Bucherer": it is no coincidence that it was the collection chosen to represent the catalogue's most contemporary, instrument-like face, designed to accompany travelers and sports enthusiasts rather than for the formal use the brand's more classic lines were intended for.
The model that, more than any other, defined the collection's identity is the Patravi TravelTec, a chronograph for true travelers capable of displaying three time zones simultaneously: the local time on the central hands, while two rotating bezels graduated over 24 hours allow two more time zones to be read at a glance, adjustable via a second crown positioned at 10 o'clock. The movement, based on a deeply reworked ETA 2894 by the THA atelier (Techniques Horlogères Appliquées), later absorbed by the manufacture, remains visible through a side window in the case.
Alongside the TravelTec, the Patravi family has expanded over time to other interpretations of the same sporty spirit: from the ScubaTec diver to the ChronoGrade chronograph, up to variants designed for more everyday use. It is the collection in which Carl F. Bucherer most openly pursued the codes typical of instrument watches — large cases, rotating bezels, high-legibility dials — while still maintaining manufacture-level construction and finishing.

Main Executions
In 2005 Carl F. Bucherer filed a patent for a single-pusher mechanism that allows the TravelTec's third time zone to be adjusted with a single button, instead of the more complex maneuvers required by many other multi-time-zone watches of the era: a technical detail that well sums up the collection's "instrument" spirit.
