DA36
Model History
DA identifies Damasko's family of three-hand pilot models, the catalogue's largest and most recognizable line, rooted in classic flieger aesthetics: matte black dial, high-contrast white Arabic numerals and a luminous triangle at 12 o'clock. It is no coincidence that this language closely resembles Sinn's: until 2002 Damasko indeed manufactured the hardened-steel cases for the Berlin brand, a stylistic legacy later reflected in its own independent pilot models.
The DA36 was created as the most accessible entry point of the DA line, designed to offer Damasko's full technology package — "ice-hardened" steel case, screw-down crown with patented lubrication system, sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating — at a more contained price than the range's larger siblings, such as the DA46 with its rotating bezel. The ETA 2836-2 automatic movement with date and day display is regulated and tested in-house to Damasko's standards.
A distinctive feature of the DA36, as with much of the DA line, is the option of a case with the "Damest" multilayer surface treatment: a coating of about 7 microns that raises surface hardness to 2500 Vickers, well above the already high hardness of the base hardened steel, for those seeking maximum scratch resistance in a watch intended for intensive everyday use.

In 2015 GQ magazine listed the DA38, a close variant of the DA36 within the same line, among the best men's watches under 2,000 euros: a notable recognition for a brand that, unlike the big names of German watchmaking, has built its reputation almost entirely by word of mouth among enthusiasts and professional pilots.
