Model History
Alongside the DA pilot line and the DC chronograph line, DS gathers Damasko's diver models, built on the same principle that guides the brand's entire catalogue: applying to instrument watches the metallurgical technologies Konrad Damasko developed for industrial and aerospace use. The DS30, with its compact 39 mm diameter, represents the most compact and everyday interpretation of this philosophy, designed for those seeking a rugged but not oversized diver on the wrist.
The model's distinguishing feature is its case material: the so-called "Deutscher U-Boot-Stahl", a high-strength steel with origins tied to German naval and submarine shipbuilding, here worked with the same "ice" hardening that characterizes the brand's other lines and finished with sand-blasting, for a matte anthracite-gray surface highly resistant to scratches and corrosion. Curved lugs, designed to better fit wrists of different sizes, complete an ergonomic setup aimed more at wearability than at instrument-watch showiness.
Technically, the DS30 is fitted with the proven automatic ETA 2824-2 caliber, regulated and tested to Damasko's in-house standards, paired with a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces and 200 meters of water resistance, a figure that places it firmly in the diving-watch category while keeping compact dimensions compared to many competitors in the segment.

The name "submarine steel" is not a marketing flourish: it refers to a family of alloys historically developed for German military naval shipbuilding, known for high mechanical and corrosion resistance in marine environments — properties Damasko has adapted, with its own hardening process, to a much smaller but equally demanding use case: the case of a diving wristwatch.
