Rangeman
Model History
The Rangeman was born in 2013 as the direct heir to the Riseman GW-9200, within the "Master of G" family dedicated to extreme environments. The debut model, the GW-9400, is the first Master of G watch to carry the "Triple Sensor version 3," which integrates a digital compass, thermometer and altimeter/barometer with memory for up to 40 logs into a single module, paired with Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 radio control, resistance to mud and low temperatures, and automatic sunrise/sunset calculation based on position.
From the start, the Rangeman established itself as one of the most popular professional models in the entire Master of G range, considered, together with the Frogman, one of the most sought-after fully digital G-Shocks among enthusiasts. Its success has led over the years to numerous special and limited editions, including versions made in collaboration with the Earthwatch Institute starting in 2014, dedicated to environmental conservation projects, as well as military-themed variants and ones dedicated to specific professions such as firefighters.
2018 brought the GPR-B1000, an evolution that introduced GPS navigation and a low-power Memory-In-Pixel display to the line for the first time, turning the Rangeman from a simple sensor-equipped watch into a true orientation instrument for expeditions and extreme hiking, with an identity ever more distinct from more lifestyle-oriented lines such as the MT-G.
