Pioneer

Everyday watchmaking according to Moser: robust enough for daily use, without giving up haute horlogerie

Line History

Launched in 2015, the Pioneer was created with a goal the brand itself declared: to offer "refined everyday watchmaking," a watch robust enough to accompany daily life while still finished to the haute horlogerie standards that characterize the whole of H. Moser & Cie.'s production. It is the line that, before the arrival of the Streamliner, introduced into the brand's catalog a more sporting disposition compared with the formal elegance of the Endeavour.

The cases, available in 40 and 42.8 mm diameters, come in steel, 5N red gold or black DLC-treated titanium, with a water resistance of 12 bar that makes it suited to more casual use than the brand's dress models. The in-house automatic calibers of the HMC family, fitted with the Straumann hairspring and a three-day power reserve, equip the line's central executions.

Over the years the Pioneer has been enriched with distinctive complications such as the Flying Hours, with a satellite hour display lacking traditional hands, and skeletonized tourbillon versions, while keeping intact the brand's chromatic identity thanks to the celebrated fumé dials in shades such as "Cosmic Green" or "Midnight Blue."

Fun Fact

The name "Pioneer" recalls the entrepreneurial spirit of Heinrich Moser himself, who in the nineteenth century was a pioneer not only in watchmaking but in industry as well: a thread that the modern manufacture wished to symbolically tie back together by giving the most "usable" line in its catalog a name linked to the founder's enterprising spirit.
