Model History
Baker is one of the first lines to appear when, in 2004, Fossil Group began producing "Marc by Marc Jacobs" watches under license from the New York fashion house. In a catalog that in subsequent years expanded to dozens of different collections, Baker remains among the longest-running and most recognizable: a watch with a round, clean design, meant for everyday wear, combining the easy legibility of a classic three-hand watch with the attention to detail (sapphire crystal, refined metal finishes) typical of the brand's fashion positioning.
Over the years the Baker line has been reissued in numerous variants of diameter, material and color: smaller, delicate cases of about 28 mm for a petite wrist, up to more structured 36-37 mm versions, often also offered as a three-counter chronograph. Straps range from smooth leather (black, gray, green, blue) to steel bracelets with gold, rose gold or silver finishes, while dials come in shades ranging from classic white to gray to petrol blue.
While not tied to a single "iconic" launch event like the great collections of fine watchmaking, Baker captures well the spirit of the brand's early Fossil era: an accessible product, refreshed season after season with new color combinations, designed to complement a wardrobe rather than to appeal to the mechanical watch enthusiast.

Main Executions
Like most Marc by Marc Jacobs collections of the Fossil era, Baker takes its name from a feminine first name rather than a code or technical reference: a recurring naming choice across the brand's catalog (Baker, Rivera, Sally, Mandy, Courtney...) that evokes the world of fashion more than that of watchmaking.
