Line History
The Divido is the collection most closely identified with Minase and the most direct showcase of its artisanal approach: the dial is not fixed to the case back as usual, but "floats" in mid-air, held by four tiny screws visible at the corners and enclosed beneath a domed box-type sapphire crystal, following a construction principle the brand states is inspired by Japanese three-dimensional puzzles. The result is a play of light and transparency that changes appearance depending on the angle, enhanced by the hand-applied Zaratsu polishing of the steel case. The dials, in stamped and lacquered copper using techniques the brand links to the principles of Suiboku-ga ink painting, remain the line's most recognizable element, together with an unusual date window that also indicates the previous and following day via a directional arrow.

Main Executions
Until 2018 the Divido, like the rest of the Minase catalogue, was sold almost exclusively in the Japanese market: its discovery by Western audiences is therefore relatively recent compared with the manufacture's long experience in case-making, which began decades earlier as a supplier to other watch brands.
