Model History
The 556 debuted in December 2007 with a stated goal: to offer a reliable, solidly built "three-hand" watch, capable of introducing new enthusiasts to the Sinn catalog without the technical complications and costs of professional lines such as the chronographs or the EZM diving lines. The choice of the ETA 2824-2 movement, simple and robust, visible through the sapphire caseback, goes in the same direction: proven reliability rather than complications.
Despite its entry-level positioning, the 556 maintains the construction standards typical of the brand: satin-finished steel case, screw-down crown, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and water resistance of 20 bar according to the DIN 8310 standard — specifications in line with Sinn watches of a much higher tier.
Over the years the range has been enriched with variants that broadened its audience: the 556 I, with baton indices and a repositioned or absent date window depending on the execution, and the 556 A, with Arabic numerals at the cardinal points and the date window moved to 4:30, introduced from 2011. The 556 remains today the most affordable entry point to the entire Sinn catalog.

Main Executions
With a list price among the lowest in the entire catalog, the 556 is often described by the specialist press as the cheapest way to enter the Sinn world without giving up the construction standards — screw-down crown, double anti-reflective treatment of the crystal, water resistance of 20 bar — that the brand also applies to its most expensive professional lines.
