Code 11.59
Model History
Presented in 2019, the Code 11.59 collection was born from an ambition the brand openly stated: to build, after nearly half a century of an identity almost entirely tied to the Royal Oak, a second aesthetic expression capable of representing Audemars Piguet's classic fine watchmaking without the constraint of the octagon. The name itself, "11.59," symbolically refers to the last minute before midnight — the threshold between a closing chapter and one about to begin.
The collection's most distinctive feature is its multi-layered case construction: a thin, polished round bezel encloses, visible only in profile, an octagonal-shaped middle case, while the lugs, welded to the bezel and case back, appear to "float" separate from the case's central body. The dial, with its concentric fine-line pattern radiating from the center, and the interplay of alternating finishes on the gold case complete a deliberately different language from the Royal Oak's sporty one.
The automatic calibre 5900, with its 188 components and 29 jewels, drives the basic time functions with a minimum power reserve of 60 hours. Met with mixed reviews at its 2019 debut precisely because of its distance from the brand's better-known aesthetic codes, the collection has progressively expanded in subsequent years with new complications and diameters, including the more compact 38 mm format.

Main Executions
The name "Code 11.59" carries a double meaning: on one hand, the symbolic hour of the last minute before midnight; on the other, an implicit nod to the fact that, for the first time in decades, Audemars Piguet chose to present the world with an entirely new stylistic "code," rather than another variant of the Royal Oak.
