Model History
Launched in 1963, the Sherpa Jet was the travel-oriented branch of the Sherpa family, created for the growing world of jet-age pilots and air passengers. Some sources report that it was supplied to airlines including Swissair, although this has not been independently verified.
The Sherpa Jet reused the same Super Compressor double-crown case that defined the rest of the Sherpa line, but repurposed its second crown: rather than rotating a dive-timing ring, it turned an internal 24-hour bezel, giving the watch a GMT function via a fourth hand that completed one full rotation every 24 hours, letting the wearer track a second time zone at a glance.
The model was also sold under the name "Sherpa Super Jet" in a later, updated 40mm case. A dated example, reference 148-35-01 from 1969, is notable for its red-and-white checkered GMT hand tip, a detail collectors look for today.

Main Executions
The Sherpa Jet's GMT function came from the very same double-crown case architecture used on the dive-oriented Sherpa models — Enicar simply changed what the internal rotating ring was used to track, from dive time to a second time zone.
